About the Artist

Crystal Sohlman started her home pottery business in 2011 when she returned to Northwestern Ontario with her family after spending 10 years in Alberta. 

She was born in Hamilton, Ontario and raised in Thunder Bay. In 1996 she spent one year at the University of Guelph before moving to a rural area in Alberta and completing her BSc Degree in Agriculture at the University of Alberta. Her first exposure to clay was in 2006, in Devon, Alberta and like many potters, once she had her hands in the mud there was no turning back.  

Her frame of mind and expression through her art centres around control versus chaos, owning the moments that you have control over and finding your way through the chaos
